It's a universal truth that mommies only eat broken cookies, leftovers and whatever no one else wants. It's a tough world for them, and sometimes it gets just a tad worse:
Me: Mom, you have got to taste one of those Godivas.
Mom: No thanks habeebti.
Me: Oh C'mon mom, just take one! You'd actually be saving my soul.
Mom: I won't eat your chocolate, forget it.
Me: Fine. Then eat this piece, I hate it.
Mom: I don't believe you.
Me: no really, it's stuffed with a fruity thing. I can't stomach these things.
Mom: are you just saying this so you'd trick me into eating one?
Me: Trust me, I'm not. I wouldn't eat it, and it'll go to waste.
Mom: Why am I not entirely believing you....(hesitantly takes it and ventures a bite and instantly......) OH MY GOD THAT IS ICKY. Why would anyone make such a thing????
Me: hehehehehehhehe told ya!

So I'm trying really hard to see what I can deduce from this vignette of yours. But see, I'm not really coming up with much. I just have questions like: How mean do you have to be to give mama an icky piece of chocolate (even if it is a Godiva)? Or is being honest about not liking the piece you gave her giving you the thrill of the I-told-you-so? Or do you feel that giving mama the only piece should could have possibly accepted a fulfillment of your daughterly duties?
See? I'm trying hard to understand here.
You know what would be awesome? If mama had a blog. We would get both sides of a story. Like when you and the bro used to write to me when I was in college. You'd each have wildly differing takes on any given event that you were describing.
What would a mother's blog say?
"I have suspicions of my kid tricking me into eating a delicious piece of chocolate (next thing you know she'll be trying to get me to eat Wara2 dawali)" Maybe? :)
I love you both, and miss you tons.
LOL
In my defense:
1. Mom usually doesn't mind fruity desserts and actually seeks them, so I honestly thought that- at worst- she would find it "tolerable".
2. I mean it's GODIVA. Yesterday I ate a piece that was SOOOO DARN GOOD my heart almost stopped working:P How oh HOW could they make anything that isn't decadently yummy? Apparently, it's possible:P
3. There is another similar piece that mom insists I must eat myself to realise what I put her through. So really, she got me back:P
I do love the idea of mom having a blog, that would be truly something!! LOL
